Biography

Juliette Dupont holds a PhD in Political Science from the Université de Montréal (2022). She is an F.R.S.-FNRS Research Associate affiliated with the Institute for European Studies and CReSPo.

From 2017 to 2021, she coordinated the Erasmus+ RESTEP network (Transatlantic Network on Political Europe).

She currently co-leads the Belgian team for the COST Action DATAMIG (Data Matters: Sociotechnical Challenges of European Migration and Border Control).

Since 2024, she has served on the executive board of the Belgian Political Science Association (ABSP).

 

Research

Her research focuses on immigration and visa policies in France and the European Union. In particular, she conducted comparative research on the issuance of Schengen visas by European consulates in China and Algeria—a study recently published in her book La Politique des Visas (Éditions du Croquant, 2025).

She has also published articles in leading journals, including the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Political Research Exchange, Migration Studies, Lien Social et Politiques, Migrations Société, and Politique européenne.

Teaching

Juliette Dupont teaches courses on European studies, international migration, public policy, and qualitative research methods. She is a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe and has taught at UCLouvain, Sciences Po Lille, Université Rouen Normandie, and the Université de Montréal.
